22 NEW THINGS TO DO ON MARTHA’S VINEYARD IN 2022
Every year on Martha’s Vineyard brings new businesses, new opportunities for fun and even more excuses to keep coming back. This year is shaping up to be even more exciting, especially as we welcome the return of many of our annual in-person events like the Oak Bluffs HarborFest and the Edgartown fireworks. We’re gearing up for a banner summer here on Martha’s Vineyard and we can’t wait to share it with you! If you’re planning a trip to the Island this year check out some of the newest additions to Martha’s Vineyard in 2022.
Vineyard Haven
The Larder While The Larder in Vineyard Haven isn’t technically new, it has been getting a big makeover over the last few months! The Larder is set to transform into a specialty meat and cheese shop that will be opening later this season. New in 2022 expect homemade sausage and charcuterie from Chef Tyler Potter and other local delicacies and delights curated by Rose Willet of North Tisbury Farm and Whippoorwill Farm.
Island Time The only locally owned adult-use cannabis dispensary on Martha’s Vineyard can be found on Mechanic Street, just across the road from Little House Cafe. All their products are locally produced in West Tisbury, and they offer a vast selection of cannabis goods, such as pre-rolls, vapes, flower, edibles, and CBD tinctures, to name a few.
S&S Kitchenette Located on Main Street, S&S Kitchenette is an exciting new provisions, retail and event space coming soon to Martha's Vineyard, courtesy of private chef Spring Sheldon. S&S Kitchenette provides locally sourced, handmade meals to go, offering daily menus, meal kits, and catering options for large parties that will be available for pick up by day. By night, the space will transform to host events, such as exclusive chef dinners, cooking classes, tastings, demos, and more!
Act Two Second Hand Store A new non-profit second hand store has opened up on Main Street! Act Two exists to create a sustainable and perpetual source of funding supporting local culture and education in performance arts on Martha’s Vineyard. Offered are a variety of pr-owned and upcycled items, such as furniture, artwork, jewelry, fine china, and more! Better yet, all proceeds are gifted to local non-profit arts and education programs.

Creativity Coaching Althea Freeman-Miller of Althea Designs on Beach Road is hosting Creativity Coaching Workshops this summer! Make use of her colorful studio by creating art, journaling, playing, meditating, and exploring your curiosity. Guided by Althea, the goal of each session is to establish coping strategies and action plans to achieve your goals creatively. Open to individuals or groups, this is a great opportunity to explore in 2022.
Miner Family Gallery Sharing space with Althea Designs this summer is the Miner Family Gallery, a new contemporary art gallery which showcases the colorful and larger-than-life paintings of Craig D. Miner, as well as the thought-provoking sculptural work of his son, Avery Miner. This working studio offers a modern take on classic Vineyard styles and is open year-round on the harbor in Vineyard Haven.
Catboat Coffee Coming soon to Tisbury Marketplace! Catboat Coffee Co. is a year-round coffee shop that combines specialty beverages, Lebanese sandwiches and dips, a rotating selection of cheeses, and Island-made artisanal crafts. This shop is the new home of complimentary food brands Epicure and Martha's Vineyard Cheesery. It is set to open summer/fall 2022!

There are as many beaches as yoga studios on island, so taking a yoga class is just the thing to do with her. Everything from Hot Vinyasa Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, , Kripalu Yoga, and many more

Rent a bicycle at any of the island’s bike shops like Wheel Happy or Edgartown Bikes and take the Beach Road bike path from the Edgartown Triangle all the way down to Oak Bluffs Center. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes depending on speed and skill and the views to the right are gorgeous because of State Beach. You’ll also bike past the infamous Jaws Bridge!
