While June is Pride month it is important to support your local LGBTQ+ businesses year-round. Martha’s Vineyard is home to a variety of queer owned and operated businesses that range from food trucks to farm stands to jewelry stores. These businesses support our visitors in the peak of summer and are here for our Island community in the off-season. For allies looking to support local LGBTQ+ businesses, here is a list of some Island favorites:
Al Fresco Tails This dog walking and pet sitting service offers personalized pet care for cats and dogs alike. Considered “the best dog sitters on Martha’s Vineyard”, you know your furry friend is in good hands with this compassionate owner-run company. They even have a wonderful blog that includes tips and tricks for pet owners on the Island!

Black Sheep. This gourmet marketplace is the perfect spot to grab a sandwich and salad, whether you're on your way to the beach or to work. Make sure to check out their Instagram for updates on their delicious specials! Masters of charcuterie, Black Sheep also does catering for events big or small. Even if you aren’t in the mood for a snack, Black Sheep also has delicious coffee options and also functions as a small grocery store.
CB Stark. This women-owned jewelry store has two locations on Martha’s Vineyard, one in Vineyard Haven and another in Edgartown. With a history dating back to the 1960s, CB Stark has been providing hand-crafted fine jewelry to the Island ever since, and has been voted the Island’s “Best Jeweler” every year since 1996. Their store caters to both Islanders and visitors alike, and offers over five hundred original designs!

Chef Amy's Food Truck. Chef Amy Johnson has a permanent spot for her food truck on Beach Road in Vineyard Haven, where she is serves savory ribs with a big side of hospitality. The menu changes from time to time, but is a perfect spot for burgers, jerk chicken, and mac and cheese. If you haven’t made the trip to see Chef Amy yet, you’re truly missing out, and the best part is, they even offer delivery!
Cinnamon Starship. Made with as many local and organic ingredients as possible, Cinnamon Starship bakes a variety of artisan naturally leavened breads and sweets. Find them at the West Tisbury Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays!
CrossFit MV. This queer-female owned gym in Vineyard Haven offers professional coaching for those looking for a quick & effective full-body workout. CFMV is inclusive of all bodies, genders, and fitness abilities – and is a great place to spice up your workout routine while building community.
Cinnamon Starship. Made with as many local and organic ingredients as possible, Cinnamon Starship bakes a variety of artisan naturally leavened breads and sweets. Find them at the West Tisbury Farmers Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays!

Fantzye Bagels. A must-try on the Martha’s Vineyard, Fantzye makes handcrafted sourdough bagels with fun flavored cream cheese schmears that are made from fresh produce from local farms. You can pre-order bagel kits on their website, fit with a half dozen bagels, fresh fish, schmear, and pickles, the perfect combination for a bagel sandwich on the beach!

Located in West Tisbury, this queer-owned organic flower and vegetable farm is relatively new to the Island, and they are selling their produce at the Garden Farm stand and at the West Tisbury Farmer’s Market! Grab a beautiful bouquet of sunflowers or basket of fresh strawberries, Fire Cat Farm’s fresh produce will not disappoint!
The Garden Farm. Shop local with this vegetable farm run by a 13th generation Islander! Their Chilmark farm stand offers fresh produce such as broccoli rabe and cucamelons. You can also find The Garden Farm frequenting the West Tisbury Farmers Market and partnering with another local LGBTQ+ farm, Fire Cat Farm.

Goldie's Rotisserie. Fresh hot chicken, rotisserie potatoes, and French Onion hot dogs, oh my! Goldie’s Food Truck is a lovely new addition to the Island, found Thursdays and Sundays at the Artisan’s Festival in West Tisbury as well as the Farmers Market on Saturdays. Make sure to follow them on Instagram for updates on pop up events.
Lennox & Harvey. Cure your wanderlust with a trip to Lennox & Harvey, a beautiful general store re-imagined for the global, mindful, and design conscious. This boutique in Vineyard Haven offers curated products inspired by travel for the home, beach, and body. Their products make the perfect gift (or an even better splurge for yourself!) and they even ship their products out if you’re not on the Island, so make sure to check out their website.
Second Treasures MV. This large antique store is just steps from Main Street in Vineyard Haven and is a wonderful stop, even for those on a tight budget! The store offers anything from unique tableware to furniture to vintage video game consoles, and everything in between! Second Treasures MV is a store meant to be explored and admired for its unique antiques and Island history.
Studio MOS MV. Looking for interior designers? Studio MOS has got you covered! This studio specializes in creating artful environments that are meant to enhance your space, whether it be the home, the workplace, and more! This firm works with both residential and commercial spaces, and their mission is to design with the client, rather than for the client, to ensure that the designs are exactly what you envision. Check out their Instagram to see some of the amazing custom work they’ve done around Martha’s Vineyard.
Studio Simon Singel. Singel’d Out Studio is an LGBTQ+ studio that specializes in product design, 3D visualization, and landscape design. Simon’s work is modern, minimal, and so very creative!
